Build water confidence and swimming skills, from beginners through the six SwimSafer 2.0 stages.
A structured introduction to swimming for ages 14 and above. No swimming experience required.
Explore lifesaving skills and Bronze Medallion training as the next step in your swimming journey.
A SIMPLE GUIDE FOR PARENTS
Understand what your child will work on, and how the school’s learning pathway builds from one stage to the next.
The beginner class introduces breathing, bubbles and water awareness before the SwimSafer stages.
Send the school your child’s latest swimming certificate. Without one, the school can assess their ability at the first lesson and advise on placement.
Ask the school about the next SwimSafer stage or optional lifesaving training, based on your child’s current ability and readiness.
An introduction before SwimSafer: practise breathing, blowing bubbles and understanding water depth.
Build independence in the water. Learn to enter and leave safely, move forwards and backwards, and understand personal water safety.
Develop swimming skills and practise safe entry, hand movements that help support the body in water, and feet-first surface dives.
Build on swimming skills, practise underwater movement and learn to use a flotation device. Introduces personal survival and basic rescue skills.
Improve stroke technique and coordinate breathing while swimming. Continue developing rescue and survival skills, with an introduction to watercraft safety.
Refine stroke technique, begin learning diving fundamentals, and develop more advanced rescue skills and survival knowledge.
Work towards smoother, stronger and more efficient swimming over longer distances, alongside standing dives, rescue skills and water safety knowledge.
BEYOND LEARN-TO-SWIM
Life Saving 1, 2 and 3 introduce water safety, deep-water orientation and basic rescue methods from land without direct contact. Bronze Medallion develops knowledge and practical ability for aquatic rescue; the school lists Life Saving 1, 2 and 3 as prerequisites.
SwimSafer Bronze (Stage 4) and Bronze Medallion are different programmes. Ask the school about eligibility and available classes.

Fun and structured teaching keeps the learning journey engaging.
From beginner skills to SwimSafer stages, with progression based on each student’s readiness.
BEFORE YOUR FIRST SPLASH
The school advises sharing your child’s latest swimming certificate with its admin. Without a certificate, the school may assess swimming ability at the first lesson to recommend a suitable stage.
The school states that lesson equipment, such as kickboards and backfloats, is provided. Confirm what personal swimwear and items to bring when arranging your class.
Owen Swim School runs its own in-house progression assessments. SwimSafer tests are organised separately by Singapore Aquatics; parents arrange test bookings and payments directly. Read the school’s explanation.
Contact the school’s admin for your preferred location through its official contact page. This independent concept does not accept registrations or collect personal information.
